Step 1: Backup Your Data
Before you remove your Huawei account, it’s essential to back up any data you wish to keep, such as contacts, messages, and app data. You can use Huawei’s backup solution or a third-party app to save your data to an external storage device or cloud service.
Step 2: Open Settings
- Unlock your Huawei phone and open the Settings app. This is usually represented by a gear icon on your home screen or app drawer.
Step 3: Access Account Settings
- Scroll down and tap on Users & accounts. This option might be named slightly differently depending on your device’s model and operating system version, but it should be similar.
Step 4: Select Huawei Account
- In the Users & accounts section, you will see a list of all accounts linked to your device. Find and select your Huawei account.
Step 5: Remove Account
- After selecting your Huawei account, look for an option that says Remove account or Delete account. Tap on it. You may need to confirm your choice by tapping Remove account or OK in a confirmation popup.
Step 6: Confirm the Removal
- If prompted, enter your device’s lock screen password, PIN, or pattern to confirm the removal of the account.
Step 7: Account Deletion Complete
- Once confirmed, your Huawei account will be removed from your device. This means you will no longer be able to access services that require a Huawei account, and any synced data will be removed from the device.
When you’re ready, perform the Factory Reset
Method 1: Factory Reset via Settings (Recommended)
This method is suitable if you can access your phone’s settings.
- Open Settings: Go to your phone’s settings menu.
- System & Updates: Scroll down and select “System & updates.”
- Reset: Find and tap on “Reset” or “Reset options.”
- Factory Reset: Choose “Factory data reset” or “Reset phone.” You might see a list of data that will be erased.
- Confirm: Read the warning, then tap on “Reset phone” again. If prompted, enter your device’s PIN, password, or pattern.
- Wait: Your phone will restart and begin the reset process. This might take a few minutes.
Method 2: Hard Reset via Recovery Mode
Use this method if you cannot access your phone’s settings, typically due to software issues or forgotten passwords.
- Power Off: Turn off your Huawei phone.
- Enter Recovery Mode: Press and hold the Volume Up + Power buttons simultaneously until the Huawei logo appears, then release.
- Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset: Use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select.
- Confirm: Choose “Wipe data/factory reset” and confirm your selection.
