How to make your phone faster in 6 simple steps!

Do you need to make your phone faster? Phones can often get slower after a while and can get annoying.

Here are 6 simple steps to make your phone faster!

1.Uninstall apps that you don’t use

Everyone has that one game/app that you won’t delete just in case you need it. Uninstalling apps and games that you don’t use allows your phone to have more memory, which gives you more RAM. Go through your phone and think, what do I not need or use and if you have to think about it, delete it.

2.Delete your old videos, photos and music

Imagine eating too much food, your stomach gets full so you can’t eat anymore, then try running. That’s how your phone works. Your device will start to get slower as the storage fills up, delete your old photos or videos you do not need or better yet, upload them to cloud storage. This will allow your phone to still be snappy and not sluggish.

3.Restart your phone

Restarting your phone can have more benefits than you think, normally we only turn off our devices if we really need to or the battery runs out. Restarting your phone allows it to clear out wasted memory and fix the app performance on the phone, it will make the phone feel new compared to what it is now.

4.Turn off the animations (reduce motion on iPhone) on your Android phone

Android does animations when switching apps or tapping on something but you can reduce the time these animations take, making your phone faster.

• Android: Go to settings – about phone – system – build number – tap build number 7 times and you will unlock developer options. Go into the system again and tap on developer options, you will need to scroll down to the animations and change them to x0.5. (You can turn them off completely but speed increase isn’t great).
• iPhone: It is much simpler, you will have to follow these steps: settings – general – accessibility – turn on reduce motion.

5. Clear your app Cache

Your phone automatically clears some cache but not all of it. This allows your phone to load and run quicker, definitely worth it if it’s very slow.

• Android (older than 7.0): Settings – Storage – Cached Data 
• Android 7.0: Settings – device maintenance – press storage
• iPhone: Settings – General – Storage & iCloud usage – Manage storage – Delete and reinstall any app with a large quantity

6.Update operating system

Updating your operating system and apps allows your phone to be the best at performance as it removes bugs and optimises your phone.

• Android: Settings – About Device (android lower than 7.0) – Software update
• iOS: Settings – General – Software Update
