Nintendo has announced two new Pokemon games for the Switch

The two new Pokémon games coming to the Switch this November are: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee. The Let’s Go games look to take a lot of inspiration from the other handheld titles but with many new features and an interesting Pokémon Go integration.

The new game will be set in the original home of the original 151 pokemon, Kanto. The new game will be aimed at getting more kids and new fans to have a great experience with a lot more freedom, for example, players will be able to see wild pokemon on the map and can choose their encounters themselves. It also features drop-in co-op, so a friend can jump in and play with you anytime, helping you hunt or helping you in a battle.

One of the biggest things about these new games is the Pokemon Go incorporation, giving players the access to catching pokemon through pokemon go and getting them into the Let’s Go game. The transfer system will make the game a whole lot better and bigger, allowing people to actively play while not playing. The Pokémon Go and Pokémon Let’s Go partnership is fantastic to see, especially to the 750,000 players of Pokemon Go. There will be a lot more features teased for this crossover, so we will keep you updated

To avid Pokemon fans, this may not be the best of news, they have been waiting for a core RPG Pokémon experience, rather than a handheld game. The Let’s Go series is a friendlier and more accessible approach to getting new players and to re-kindle the love/nostalgia, especially with the setting that the new game has. Game Freak director Junichi Masuda was quoted saying ”With these games specifically, we’re trying to introduce an all-new playstyle,” Masuda says. “It’s really a much more simplified experience compared to the traditional series.”
