Clean your phone Prepare your phone for sale by cleaning your device thoroughly, this will help make the device look more appealing and show off any blemishes the device has.

Cleaning your phone is essential to selling it, as little blemishes and what you thought were scratches you could wipe away.

The easiest way is to get a soft, lint-free cloth or a microfibre cloth, dampen the edges and then wipe your phone from top to bottom. Use the dry bit of the fabric to dry your phone gently, so there are no watermarks. It is also advised to get something like a cotton square or cotton bud to reach into the areas that are hard to get to, make sure the cotton will not rub off though! You can also buy wipes to disinfect and clean your phone at an extra charge.

Take good photos (selling online)

If you’re selling on eBay or similar; excellent, crisp and clear photos are essential for a sale. Taking pictures of your phone should be done with a white background, the main image of the phone should be sharp, and take as many as you can (front, back, the screen on, screen off). Note the blemishes and scratches in the description, if there is a significant issue, then to avoid a return show it in a picture.

Be Honest

If you want the most money for your phone, then be honest, as there’s nothing worse than your expectations being higher than they actually should be. If your trading in your old phone for cash be upfront about its condition, companies will give you the correct trading price for a working, good condition phone, but if you send it with scratches and dents then be prepared to be knocked down on the original price.

Hope this helped you prepare your phone for sale!
