The LG G7 ThinQ will be announced on May the 2nd, new leaks today have given us a big insight into what the new device will feature and look like.

The design leaks have been spreading around this week, take a look at the image below for the latest leaked photo of the LG G7 ThinQ.

Newest leaks

Android Headlines managed to get internal LG documentation from one of their reliable sources, it has provided a lot of information on the new dual-lens camera.

The LG G7 ThinQ will apparently feature the new Snapdragon 845 chipset, giving it the fastest speeds available on an Android smartphone right now. This is the latest chipset by Qualcomm and is featured in the US variant of the Galaxy S9, this is an improvement from the LG G6’s blunder of having an older chipset than the competition. The device will also feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as standard, while 6GB of RAM would have been better, this does help it rival the Samsung Galaxy S9, it even beat the S9 on recent benchmarks, it is sceptical though.

The camera will tout two 16 megapixel cameras, the first one will be a standard camera with a f/1.6 aperture while the second camera will be a wide-angle camera with a 107-degree angle field of view. The new camera will supposedly be very good in low light conditions, this is due to a new Bright Mode feature which combines pixels to create a superpixel. This will make pictures and videos up to 4 times brighter than the LG G6 and the LG V30/V30 ThinQ.

The LG G7 camera will have a big variety of new features including, manual mode, animated stickers, live photos (short videos) and the new portrait mode to add bokeh effects to pictures. The camera will also be able to record in HDR-10, meaning beautiful colours and great looking videos.

The LG G7’s screen will supposedly use a lot more white pixels than the last LG G6 and LG V30’s screens, this will make the display twice as bright than before but without straining the battery. It will also apparently be a lot more colourful. resulting in a vivid, great to look at screen.

The screen will also have a notch, depending on how you feel about notches, this can be seen as good or bad. The LG  G7 does feature software that can ‘cover’ the notch, making a black bar appear where the notch is, making it have a top bezel. The screen will also be HDR-10 ready, meaning you can view HDR-10 ready content and re-watch your HDR recordings back properly.

The LG G7 ThinQ will feature new speakers, this is meant to be called a ‘Boombox Speaker’, this works like a resonance chamber, this will cause the audio waves to bounce around before being outputted. This will give a louder, clearer and more of a booming sound, giving it a rich and bassy sound.

Other new details

The LG G7 ThinQ will also feature a far-field voice recognition, this will apparently allow it to hear commands from as far as 17 feet, this will definitely improve the use of Google Assistant. Google Assistant will feature 32 exclusive tasks just for the LG G7, improving an already blossoming relationship with Google.

If all the details above are correct, LG may have finally created a flagship device that will rival the top end devices. The features and specs look great and it looks to be a standout phone of 2018, we will have to wait until the official announcement before we can judge though.

We can’t confirm whether all of these specs will be 100% correct so take it all with a pinch of salt.
