Do you want or have an iPhone X but you really don’t like the notch? Here is a solution.

Apple has just approved a new app called ‘Notch Remover‘ that masks the Notch into a full black bar at the top.

The app does this by adding a black bar at the top of your iPhone home and lock screen images, giving you a more uniform status bar which is traditional. This results in a better looking (in our opinion) home status bar instead of the horns it currently rocks.

What makes this more interesting is that Apple has approved the app. This comes after Apple urged developers to embrace the notch and to not mask it at all on their developer guidelines.

“Don’t mask or call special attention to key display features. Don’t attempt to hide the device’s rounded corners, sensor housing, or indicator for accessing the Home screen by placing black bars at the top and bottom of the screen”.

Has Apple backtracked due to a lot of people doing it for free anyway?

The Notch isn’t all bad though, apps that are developed for it do work very well and you do get used to seeing it on a day-to-day usage.

The app costs £0.99 but that shouldn’t be an issue considering you paid/will pay over £999 for the device!
