New rumours suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will have an in-display fingerprint sensor

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is the next flagship device for Samsung, with slow sales of the Galaxy S9, Samsung needs the newest galaxy device to be a big hitter.

Reports today suggest that the next Galaxy will be Samsung’s first device with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is also suggested that it will be Qualcomm’s ultrasonic reader that will be used.

Samsung will be using Qualcomms 3rd generation ultrasonic reader, it is touted to be a massive upgrade on the current sensors being used.

Ultrasonic sensors are, in theory, a lot better than optical sensors (the default for most phones). This is because the ultrasonic sensor can map a 3D image of your finger which gives it better accuracy and allow it to work when the screen is wet.

It may also give the Galaxy S10 new features for it’s health tracking, the sensor in question can monitor blood flow and heart rates, making it easier for Samsung to implement it.

If this rumour turns out to be true, it will give the new Galaxy S10 a massive selling point, having a in-display fingerprint sensor is seen as the future of smartphone tech. Having the best one on the market will only earn it plaudits.
